- 中国特指的“考研”可以说：China’s National Postgraduate Entrance Examination (NPEE)
- 这个是官方文件、英文报道里经常出现的说法，尤其是教育新闻和政策解读文章。
2）换个角度，用“为研究生学习做准备/申请”的视角
在英文简历和自我介绍中，外国人不太关心“你参加了哪一场考试”，更在意你在做什么决定、走什么路径。
所以很多招聘官、海外导师更习惯看到这样的写法：
- preparing for the national graduate entrance examination in China
- took the national postgraduate entrance examination for Master’s programs
- pursued admission to a Master’s program through China’s national entrance exam
夸张一点说，只要你把“它是一场全国性的研究生入学考试”解释清楚，对方就能理解你在做什么。
比起死抠一个固定短语，场景感更重要。
接下来换成姜行来跟你聊聊“不同场景怎么说，才不让自己吃亏”。
这里我来接力一下，我是姜行。
我更关心的一个问题是：你费了那么多精力考研，无论考上没考上，怎么用英语把这段经历说“值回票价”。
很多同学简历上一个小角落写着：
- “Preparing for postgraduate entrance examination (2025.6–2026.2)”
然后就没了。
用人单位看到只会觉得：
- 哦，你在“考试”，然后呢？
- 你有没有时间管理能力？
- 有没有持续学习？
- 有没有成果可以量化？
我更推荐你这样写：
1）如果你在全职考研（空窗期比较明显）
可以写得更完整一些，例如：
Full-time preparation for China’s National Postgraduate Entrance Examination (NPEE) for Master’s programs; focused on advanced microeconomics, econometrics, and academic English.
或者更简化一点：
Dedicated preparation for the National Postgraduate Entrance Examination (NPEE), with intensive training in advanced mathematics, academic writing, and time management.
这里有几个小心机：
- 用 dedicated / intensive 这些词，让别人看到的是投入和自律。
- 顺带写上你强化的技能：
advanced mathematics,academic English,time management，这些都是 HR 会高亮的关键词。
2）如果你边实习边考研
那就别只写“备考”，要体现你多线程处理的能力：
Prepared for the National Postgraduate Entrance Examination (NPEE) while working part-time, balancing 30+ weekly study hours with internship responsibilities in [field].
这类表达对海外 HR 来说，信息很清晰：
- 你准备了一个难度不低的全国性考试；
- 你在高强度学习的同时还有实战经历；
- “30+ weekly study hours”这类数字，会让你的自律感变得很具体。
顺便说一句，有机构在2026年的就业报告里提到，在简历中解释清楚“考研空窗期”的学生，获得面试邀约的概率比完全不解释的人高出约 27%（数据多来自大型招聘平台年度报告）。
解释得好，真的会拉开差距。
这部分我来接着说回到语气偏专业的模式。
很多同学会问：
我在和外教发邮件、参加线上项目、或者跟国外导师聊天时，怎么自然地提到“我正在考研/我已经考完研”？
与其直接翻译“我在考研”，更推荐这种说法：
1）表达“正在准备考研”
I am currently preparing for China’s National Postgraduate Entrance Examination for Master’s programs.I am in the process of preparing for the national entrance examination for graduate studies in China.
如果想语气更轻一点，也可以说：
I am preparing for the national graduate entrance exam in China, which is required for admission to most Master’s programs.后半句是补充解释，对不了解中国考试体系的老师很友好。
2）表达“已经考完，但还在等结果/暂时没考上”
I recently sat for China’s National Postgraduate Entrance Examination (NPEE) and am currently awaiting results.I took the national entrance examination for Master’s programs and decided to seek more practical experience in the meantime.
如果没考上，不必在一句话里“坦白从宽”，你只需要让对方知道你理性地做了一个选择：
After taking the national entrance exam for graduate studies, I chose to focus on gaining industry experience while keeping the option of future postgraduate study open.
这类说法的好处是：
- 你没有给自己贴上“失败者”的标签；
- 你强调了自己有选择、有规划，而不是被考试结果推着走。
接下来还是让姜行从“更接地气”的角度，聊聊你在社交媒体、日常聊天中可以怎么表达。
如果你在社交媒体上用英语写日常，或者在交换生项目中和外国朋友聊天，你会发现一个尴尬点：
你一说“postgraduate entrance examination”，别人脸上就写着——这啥？
在日常语境里，你可以把“考研”拆开来解释，不一定要塞一个长长的名词进去。
一些更顺滑的说法示例：
I’m studying for a big national exam to get into a Master’s program in China.It’s called the National Postgraduate Entrance Examination. Most students take it if they want to do a Master’s degree here.I’m basically spending this year preparing for the entrance exam to graduate school.
你会发现，这里的关键词不再是“那个标准答案是什么”，而是：

放在真实对话里，对方会更快理解你的处境：
你在面对一个竞争激烈的大型考试，而不是某个他们从没听过的缩写。
如果是发社交媒体动态，也可以写得更生活一点，例如：
Currently living on coffee and past exam papers – I’m preparing for China’s national entrance exam for Master’s programs.My life right now: library, past papers, and more coffee. I’m preparing for the national postgraduate entrance exam in China.
这些句子不复杂，却把你的状态说得很明白，也带一点情绪和画面感。
既然话题打开了，我们顺带把几个周边高频词也理一下，不然对话刚流畅起来，突然蹦出一个奇怪表达就有点可惜。
1）“考上研”“读研”
be admitted to a Master’s programget into a Master’s program in [major / university]pursue a Master’s degree in [field]例句：
I was admitted to a Master’s program in Data Science at [University].I’m currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
2）“调剂”
这个词没有特别精准的固定对等表达，你可以直接解释发生了什么：
I changed my intended major during the admission process based on available places.I accepted an offer from another program during the redistribution of remaining places.
虽然略长，但对方能听懂你经历的是一个“调整志愿”的过程，而不是你莫名其妙换了专业。
3）“二战考研”“gap year 考研”
I decided to spend another year preparing for the national entrance exam for graduate studies.I took a gap year mainly to prepare for the graduate entrance exam.
在英文语境里，“二战”这种说法不一定要直译成 second attempt，你可以用比较中性的说法去描述你的选择，而不是强调“我又失败了一次”。
